Positions at Pfizer NY

I am a Bucknell alumna, class of 2011. I now work in Vaccines Research at Pfizer, in Pearl River, NY. I recently received an email from my company about summer employment opportunities for college students at various Pfizer locations, in various functions and capacities. I’m not sure if Bucknell as an organization is aware of this program or not, but I thought I would provide some information and forward you the link to the application page, so that you could pass it on to any interested Bucknell students.

I know there are several functions for the summer workers, some of which would interest pre-health students (Clinical Research, R&D), and others that would probably interest other students (Business Technology [computer science], Finance, General Business, Marketing, Mathematics/Statistics, and Regulatory Affairs, among some others). The position is paid, but would not be an internship or intended as a talent conversion program, and does not offer school credit.

To qualify, students must be legally authorized to work in the US, be at least 18 years old, and have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate studies by May 2016, have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, be enrolled in an undergraduate OR graduate program for the period of time immediately following the summer program, and be able to successfully pass a drug screen and background check within 30 days of the target start date. The positions usually begin in late May and last through August. Attached is a fact sheet for the program that can be provided to students. The link for students to apply is below:

This link and the contact information for the hiring agency is provided in the fact sheet, in case you have any questions. The deadline for applications is March 4th, 2016.

Pfizer employees are allowed to refer one student for the Summer Worker Program. All referrals will be considered for placement, and Pfizer makes the effort to place many referrals as possible – therefore they have a higher rate of placement than non-referral applicants. If Bucknell has one highly-motivated or –interested student that they think would benefit from the referral, I would be happy to provide it. However, I am limited to only one referral for the 2016 program. Otherwise, any student who meets the above qualifications can apply.
