Good news! The application for the 2020 Zucker Pipeline Program (ZPP)  at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in New York is now open. The mission of the ZPP is to enhance the matriculation of students who are underrepresented in medicine and students who are economically disadvantaged to the Zucker School of Medicine. The three-year, summer intensive, academic enrichment program is designed to provide high achieving college students who are interested in a career in medicine an opportunity for direct matriculation to the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. We are pleased to inform you that the University of Michigan Future Public Health Leaders Program (Michigan FPHLP) is currently accepting applications for Summer 2020! The Michigan FPHLP 2020 Application is open until January 31, 2020 . Michigan FPHLP is a 10-week summer residential program for underrepresented college students and recent graduates who are looking for a meaningful introduction to public health. It is a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) to address the shortage of diversity in the public health workforce. We are delighted to introduce the 2019 Premedical Urban Leaders Summer Enrichment (PULSE) Program, an academic enrichment program for college undergraduate students interested in healthcare professions. The Biomedical Research for University Students in Health Sciences (BRUSH) program at Michigan State University is a Summer Research Program for students from populations underrepresented in biomedical research. The BRUSH Program is suitable for students interested in biomedical research, and it is also valuable for students interested in human medicine or veterinary medicine.  During the 12-week BRUSH Program students conduct research under the guidance of a faculty mentor and also participate in ancillary activities to help them explore research as a career and succeed in the conduct and presentation of their research. The Illinois College of Optometry will host its 9 th annual Focus on Your Future Summer Program for underrepresented minority undergraduate students. The program is a weeklong experience that will expose undergraduate students to the profession of optometry in a variety of settings. Participants will have the opportunity to meet and work with current optometry students, ICO Faculty & Staff, as well as practicing optometrists. There is no cost to participate in this program and room and board will be provided. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses and/or transportation cost to and from ICO.
