LECOM, the largest and one of the most affordable medical schools in the United States, invites your students to apply to our Master of Medical Science (MMS) program.  Successful completion of the MMS program greatly increases their opportunity to get accepted into LECOM Bradenton’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM), School of Dental Medicine (SDM) or School of Pharmacy (SOP).    The MMS program has three tracks: medicine, dental medicine, and pharmacy. Supported by an R25 grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, this short-term program is designed to catalyze the training of the future generation of blood science researchers. The program is focused on Experimental Hematology, Hemolysis Related Vascular Biology, and Sickle Cell Disease. Over the course of six months, trainees will complete practical-oriented course work choosing from a variety of Advanced Specialized Research Hematology Techniques. Junior faculty trainees will have the opportunity to intern for up to 6 weeks in sickle cell clinics in Ghana and Tanzania. This exposure is intended to allow access to large patient cohorts for a collaborative translational hematology research.
