Summer Opportunity - Summer Scholars Program at OU-HCOM - 2018

The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine will again host the Summer Scholars Program . The Summer Scholars program is a tremendous academic experience  for underrepresented, or educationally or economically disadvantaged students to grow personally and be challenged professionally on the OU-HCOM campus.  The program replicates what will be experienced in the first year of medical school at OU-HCOM. Courses, taught by OU-HCOM faculty, include gross anatomy (with cadaver dissection), histology, immunology, biochemistry, integrated biomedical sciences,  an introduction to case based learning (CBL), and workshops dealing with the admission process, time management and many other experiences relevant to the medical school experience. MA in Intercultural Services in Healthcare - WFU

The Wake Forest Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is now accepting applications for the MA in Intercultural Services in Healthcare (ISH) for Fall 2018. The ISH Track is of particular interest for pre-health students looking to take time off before medical, dental, pharmacy, or PA school. It is a two semester course of studies that offers a unique set of skills to complement future medical careers or serve as training for an alternative career path in the healthcare. The first such specialization of its kind in the U.S., this track responds to the growing need for culturally competent administrators and comprehensive diversity strategies in healthcare. It prepares intercultural specialists to enter managerial positions in culture-sensitive healthcare delivery areas. Truman State University is excited to announce the new Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program with classes beginning in July 2018! The MAT is a two-year, 62 credit professional program that prepares students for national certification in athletic training. We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Our graduate curriculum is designed for optimal hands-on learning and comprehensive clinical experience that is integrated into the curriculum. Students work with a variety of patient populations. We are excited to share with you several updates to the MCAT test preparation portfolio offered by the AAMC. We are pleased to inform you that the Official Guide to the MCAT® Exam, Fifth Edition is now available. This new edition of the Official Guide includes an updated Part 1 providing students with everything they need to know about the MCAT exam. It includes an overview of exam structure, registration and scheduling logistics, preparation resources, test day procedures, and scoring. Please note that the questions found in Part 2 remain the same. Further, all AAMC practice products have been automatically updated to mirror the new interface of the MCAT exam. Somos Hermanos 3-Month Gap year program

Somos Hermanos recently launched a shorter 3-Month Gap year program . We continue to offer our 5-Month program every spring, however starting in the fall of 2018 we will offer a condescended version in 3-Months. It will include 8 weeks of full time language learning, the trips to Mexico and El Salvador, and clinically related health visits and talks. Post-bac for PA school and for med school

We have a post-bacc, MS in Medical Physiology program at Case Western Reserve University.  The majority of our students are interested in Medical School but we have 1 or 2 students each year who want to go on to PA school.  To date we have a 100% success rate helping these students get into PA programs - one is currently attending the PA program at CWRU.  We would encourage students interested in PA programs to apply to our MSMP program. We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2018 Adventures in Veterinary Medicine (AVM) program at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. AVM is an exciting and intensive program where participants can explore the wide variety of careers available within veterinary medicine and discover first-hand what it is like to attend veterinary school.
