Hematology research

Supported by an R25 grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, this short-term program is designed to catalyze the training of the future generation of blood science researchers. The program is focused on Experimental Hematology, Hemolysis Related Vascular Biology, and Sickle Cell Disease. Over the course of six months, trainees will complete practical-oriented course work choosing from a variety of Advanced Specialized Research Hematology Techniques. Junior faculty trainees will have the opportunity to intern for up to 6 weeks in sickle cell clinics in Ghana and Tanzania. This exposure is intended to allow access to large patient cohorts for a collaborative translational hematology research.

We are seeking applicants who have a strong interest in developing skills for a research career in hemoglobin disorders and in other hemolysis-related conditions. Graduate students, Post-docs, and Junior faculty with current affiliation to an accredited US institution are eligible to apply.
