This five-week summer program on psychological and social foundations of health builds your capacity to serve as a culturally competent health care professional. The integrated course work, service-learning internship, and networking opportunities prepares you to learn, serve, and lead in the diverse and rapidly changing twentyfirst-century world. The courses develop foundational skills to analyze how health is influenced by psychology, socioeconomic factors, religious beliefs, and neighborhoods in which individuals reside. CRISSP internship at CHOP

Applications for the 2017 CRISSP internship are now being accepted! Please pass this along to anyone you know that might be a good candidate for the program. Twenty-five positions are available. All participants will have multiple opportunities for clinical shadowing and broad exposure to biomedical research careers. Students receive a $4,000 stipend and free housing in the University of Pennsylvania dorms. The application deadline is January 31, 2017 . Summer experience at Emory

Emory University’s Office of Summer Programs is pleased to announce MD-SEE, the MD Summer Experience at Emory, for summer 2017.    Much more than a shadowing program, MD-SEE offers genuine clinical experience, classroom guidance on presentations, and a vigorous look at current issues and practices in medicine. This course will cover variable topics of special interest in the field of Clinical Neurology.  Undergraduates will have an opportunity to correlate experience with actual patients with the science behind the diagnosis. During their time in the clinics, students will act as a “patient assistant,” helping patients who may have partial paralysis or loss of sensation. They will learn the basics of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and will record patients’ history and neurological findings while observing real-life patient examinations. Each student will be assigned a Clinical Neurology faculty mentor who will help develop the writing

We have two unique summer research scholarship opportunities for undergraduates at Nemours in Wilmington, DE that we hope you will share with your education community! The Nemours Summer Undergrad uate Research Program (NSURP) at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, is accepting applications for 10 funded summer Research Scholar positions for our Summer 2017 program.  NSURP offers opportunities consisting of both basic and applied (clinical) biomedical research projects. The Nemours Office of Health Equity and Inclusion (OHEI) is accepting applications for 6 funded summer Research Scholar positions through their Health Equities Summer Research Program (HESSP). The focus of all of these research projects is health disparities. Most are epidemiologic in nature. POSTING DETAILS Start Date: 06/01/2017 End Date: 07/01/2018 This is a paid position 40+ hours of work per week Job description:  The Pre-Med Student Intern will interview patients and record their medical history into the office’s Electronic Health Record system. They will then review the history with the attending physician and record the physical exam, MRI/X-ray findings and treatment plan in the EHR.
