We are pleased to inform you that the University of Michigan Future Public Health Leaders Program (Michigan FPHLP) is currently accepting applications for Summer 2020! The Michigan FPHLP 2020 Application is open until January 31, 2020 . Michigan FPHLP is a 10-week summer residential program for underrepresented college students and recent graduates who are looking for a meaningful introduction to public health. It is a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) to address the shortage of diversity in the public health workforce. No public health experience is required. We are thrilled to receive applications from students in all majors! 

1. Summer Academic Enrichment Program -This 6-week residential program simulates the first year of Medical, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy Schools with a rigorous schedule incorporating  graduate level classes, clinical experience, community service, fun, and preparation for your respective application season.  This program is for Juniors, Seniors, and Post-Bacc students. The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine will again host the Summer Scholars Program . The Summer Scholars program is a tremendous academic experience  for underrepresented, or educationally or economically disadvantaged students to grow personally and be challenged professionally on the OU-HCOM campus.  The program replicates what will be experienced in the first year of medical school at OU-HCOM. Courses, taught by OU-HCOM faculty, include gross anatomy (with cadaver dissection), histology, immunology, biochemistry, integrated biomedical sciences,  an introduction to case based learning (CBL), and workshops dealing with the admission process, time management and many other experiences relevant to the medical school experience. The Enrichment Summer Program (ESP), sponsored by the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, provides academic advancement and career knowledge for undergraduate students interested in veterinary medicine. The Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine Enrichment Summer program (MSU CVM ESP) invites students to apply for this summer opportunity.  The program is suitable for students interested in veterinary medicine.  During the 3-week program, students participate in a simulated Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum, clinical experiences and leadership activities under the guidance of a faculty mentor and professional program students.  The program is best suited for students who have completed their sophomore or junior year of undergraduate studies, although applicants with less college credit will be considered. Applications for the 2017 Gateways to the Laboratory Summer Program for Pre-MD-PhD students are now being accepted. This outstanding pre-MD-PhD summer program was recently featured in Academic Medicine along with its 20 year outcome study. At the request of several advisors who wish to send targeted emails, I hope this eligibility information helps.  The Gateways to the Laboratory Program is for: ·          Freshman and sophomores (at time of application) only ; ·          Underrepresented minority and/or disadvantaged backgrounds or have a disability ; ·          US Citizens/Permanent Residents ; ·          Students who wish to pursue the combined MD-PhD degrees after college.
