UVM College of Medicine Summer Medical School Prep Program

An important new summer program we've created to help students prepare for the revised MCAT, build clinical experience with formal shadowing and medical simulation center activities, and practice essential interviewing skills from June 20 - July 15 (four weeks) - The UVM College of Medicine Summer Medical School Prep Program

I care deeply about helping students progress successfully through their pre-med pathway into medical school and on to the patient's bedside. I have served students in the College of Medicine as a teacher and mentor, Biochemistry Department Chair, Director of Pre-clinical Assessment of the College of Medicine Vermont Integrated Curriculum and as a member of the Admissions Committee. This program is being offered by me and a teaching team of accomplished College of Medicine faculty. However, your students will not just learn from faculty, they also will be assigned to a current Medical Student who will serve as their personal mentor and can provide them with important information on how to gain acceptance to and be successful in medical school today.
This program is for pre-med students who are getting ready to take the MCAT and apply to medical school. We expect that most participants will have completed their first three years of undergraduate pre-med coursework before starting the program this summer. Recent graduates are welcome to participate as long as they have completed the standard pre-med course requirements.
If this program sounds like a good fit for any of your students, then I encourage you to match qualified students with this opportunity and help them register immediately because seats are limited.
If you are willing to encourage them to consider this opportunity, I have also attached a student letter detailing the program that you could attach to an email from you to your students.
You can learn more and register students online at learn.uvm.edu/summermed.
I truly appreciate your support of this program and the important work you do for our future physicians.
Sincerely,

Paula Tracy, Ph.D.
