Baltimore Health Immersion
Here are some highlights of Baltimore Health Immersion Program (May 19 –June 21, 2019)
- The program focuses on psychological and social foundations of health through two courses (six credits), forty-hour service-learning internship, and other immersion opportunities.
- Dr. Jeffrey Lating’s course, Introduction to Health Psychology, offers a review of assessment procedures, adherence and evaluation in health care, and health psychology interventions. My course, Urban Health and Faith, examines the impact of religious traditions and faith communities on management of urban health.
- We have a network of placements in downtown Baltimore, including Kennedy Krieger Institute, Health Care for the Homeless, Bon Secours Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and Powell Recovery Center.
- Visiting students are warmly welcome.
- Housing is available. Breakfast and lunches on teaching days as well as books are included.
