Youth Health Equity Model of Practice Summer Program
Wanted to make you
aware of a summer program (with stipend) sponsored by the HHS/Office of
Minority Health for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students from
underrepresented groups.
Please forward to any interested students.
We are pleased to announce that we now have a website for our Youth Health Equity Model of Practice (YHEMOP) program!
As many of you are
aware, the purpose of the YHEMOP is to support the future design,
implementation, and evaluation of federal and public health workforce
policies, specifically as it relates to capacity building
for diverse organizations that promote health equity and/or address
health disparities. Through this initiative, Health Equity Fellows
(students enrolled in higher education studies) will be matched with
diverse organizations to complete short-term Health
Equity Projects that help improve health outcomes and close the gap on
racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care. Moving forward,
the website will have up-to-date information about placement
opportunities and student applications, which are available
to download online.
The student application for summer 2017 fellows is currently open and
the deadline for student applications is February 15th, 2017.
Applications to serve as a placement site for summer 2018 will be open
in November 2017. We encourage you to share this information and link
with your network and interested contacts.
Thank you,
Andrew K. Sanderson, II, MD, MPH, FASGE
