Penn's Specialized Studies put students ahead of the competition

The University of Pennsylvania's Pre-Health Post-Baccalaureate Programs provide students with extraordinary opportunities to excel in health professional school applications and gain hands-on experiences in the field. Designed with flexibility in mind, the Specialized Studies Program is ideal for students who already have an academic science background and are ready to prepare for health professional school with a customized curriculum of advanced coursework.

In the Specialized Studies Program, students can:
  • Enroll on a full- or part-time basis
  • Start taking classes in the spring, summer, or fall term
  • Complete their studies through just eight courses
  • Take advantage of clinical, volunteer, and research opportunities throughout Penn
  • Examine a breadth and depth of subjects, including the Biological Basis of Behavior Program
  • Work with faculty mentors in potential teaching assistantship opportunities

"I applied to Penn Pre-Health Programs because I wanted to experience a world-renowned Ivy League education and I knew that the resources and opportunities at Penn would be abundant. I also wanted to strengthen my science foundation and acquire more breadth and depth before throwing myself into a science-heavy program. I'm currently taking an anatomy course and I already feel I have a leg up over my classmates--a lot of the material we're learning now is familiar."
