Penn's Specialized Studies put students ahead of the competition

The University of Pennsylvania's Pre-Health Post-Baccalaureate Programs provide students with extraordinary opportunities to excel in health professional school applications and gain hands-on experiences in the field. Designed with flexibility in mind, the Specialized Studies Program is ideal for students who already have an academic science background and are ready to prepare for health professional school with a customized curriculum of advanced coursework.

In the Specialized Studies Program, students can:
  • Enroll on a full- or part-time basis
  • Start taking classes in the spring, summer, or fall term
  • Complete their studies through just eight courses
  • Take advantage of clinical, volunteer, and research opportunities throughout Penn
  • Examine a breadth and depth of subjects, including the Biological Basis of Behavior Program
  • Work with faculty mentors in potential teaching assistantship opportunities

Pre-Health Programs Core Studies '21-expected

"It has been really inspiring to see the extent to which fellow students are stepping up, taking on leadership roles, and trying to help one another during this very strange time. We have had to navigate COVID and set new expectations for what this next year will look like. The past six months have really exemplified how much the people in this program care about fostering and maintaining a community, which I think is amazing."
