Tufts Postbac program

We are excited to give you an update on our supportive, highly-respected Postbac Program. Our next application cycle closes November 1 for spring semester start - we look forward to reading your students' and alums' applications. They should apply here, using our simple online application, paying special attention to select the 'Postbac Premedical Spring 2018' round.
If you have not visited our website recently (http://as.tufts.edu/postbacpremed/), you will find we continue to expand our services. For example, this past summer we have added a free Kaplan review course for the standardized test that our Postbac students have to take for their chosen profession. We are also adding a new linkage relationship with UMASS Medical School in nearby Worcester, MA.

Quick highlights about our program:
  • Forty students who form a close, supportive community.
  • College graduates who have not yet taken the majority of required sciences.
  • Rigorous, daytime classes taught by our excellent full-time faculty.
  • Personalized advising to develop each student's individual study plan.
  • Myriad opportunities for health-related experience.
Each year six to eight part-time, credited and paid research opportunities are available through the Lahey Clinical Research Preceptorship Program. Students apply and are selected and then spend 10 hours per week at Lahey Health (a teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine.)

Brandeis University's two-track Post-Baccalaureate and application fee waiver

Our program includes two tracks:    Career changer track:   A two-year course of study for students with no science background, this track starts in the fall semester and allows students to complete all necessary pre-requisites for medical school and other health professions. Finisher Track:  This track is a special 15-month program that offers students who have already completed general chemistry and biology a pathway to dive into organic chemistry.
