About:
The
UC Postbaccalaureate Consortium is a partnership of Postbaccalaureate
premedical programs at the Schools of Medicine at UC Davis, UC Irvine,
UC Los Angeles, and UC San Francisco.
The mission of the Consortium is to increase the number of physicians
who practice in shortage areas of California by assisting capable and
dedicated students from disadvantaged backgrounds in gaining admission
to medical school.
Admissions Requirements:
- Be committed to practice in the underserved communities of California
- Have completed an undergraduate degree in an accredited US college or university
- Have completed all, or the majority of the requirements, for medical school
- Have attained the minimum science and overall GPA (2.7) and Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) scores required by each program
- MCAT not required for first-time applicants
- Be a resident of California
- Come from an educationally and/or economically disadvantaged background
Deadlines:
- UC Davis, UC Irvine, and UC San Francisco first-time applicant deadline: March 20th, 2019
- UC Davis, UC Los Angeles, and UC San Francisco re-applicant deadline: May 6th, 2019
Please note that the PostBacc program at UC Los Angeles is strictly for re-applicants.
First-time
applicants are defined as those who have never applied to medical
school but have completed the requirements for entrance into the
Postbaccalaureate programs. Re-applicants are those who have
applied to a US medical school in the past but were not granted
admission.
