Casa de Esperanza, a non-profit in Houston, Texas.  Casa de Esperanza provides residential care to children birth through six who are in crisis due to abuse, neglect, or the effects of HIV.  Care is provided in our neighborhood by our Hands of Hope interns.  Information about our internship may be found here:

I am writing with the hope that you may be able to share information about this internship with interested students.  Our internship especially appeals to pre-med students who wish to complete a year of service before attending medical school.

Our program includes two tracks:    Career changer track:   A two-year course of study for students with no science background, this track starts in the fall semester and allows students to complete all necessary pre-requisites for medical school and other health professions. Finisher Track:  This track is a special 15-month program that offers students who have already completed general chemistry and biology a pathway to dive into organic chemistry.
