Ohio State Optometry Admissions Visit Day See what’s possible at The Ohio State University College of Optometry Visit Day on Saturday, October 15 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Visit Day offers a special opportunity to explore careers in optometry, tour our academic and clinical facilities, learn more about the admissions process, and meet with college faculty, students, administrators, and alumni. We encourage high school and college students, as well as alumni, practitioners, and academic advisors to attend this event. Activities include college tours, admission and financial aid information sessions, optometry career panel presentations, and an opportunity to talk directly with current students, faculty, and alumni.  The college is located at 338 West Tenth Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Free Screening and Discussion of PBS Program "Being Mortal"

You’re invited to a free screening and discussion of the PBS program  “Being Mortal”  on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, 6:00pm  at Campus Theatre  or   Thursday, October 20, 2016, 6:00 pm  at Isaac’s Auditorium, Susquehanna University . You will be part of a national dialog taking place in our community that helps clinicians address difficult end-of-life decisions. “Being Mortal”  investigates the practice of caring for the dying and explores the relationships between patients and providers. It follows Dr. Atul Gawande as he speaks with doctors about talking to patients as they near the end of their lives. When Dr. Gawande’s own father gets cancer, his search for answers about how to best care for the dying becomes a personal quest. “We (clinicians) are afraid of talking to patients about the problems,” of aging and dying, says Dr. Gawande in the film. “We aren’t particularly good at handling people going through the last phases of life.” Watch a ...

The flyer for Temple's online non-credit Biochem is below: MCAT BIOCHEMISTRY ONLINE Offered by LKSOM faculty, “MCAT Biochemistry Online” is uniquely designed to prepare Pre-Medical students for the “Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems” section of the MCAT. Conversational and interactive videos, online quizzes, and peer instruction will all be included in this 5-week non-credit course offered entirely online.
