Master of Science in Translational Medicine Joint Program between City of Hope and Keck Graduate Institute

On behalf of the Irell and Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences at City of Hope, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our institute’s new Master of Science in Translational Medicine (MSTM) program to your students. Our two-year MSTM program is a joint venture between City of Hope and Keck Graduate Institute of Claremont Colleges. As one of the nation’s best cancer hospitals and one of only 51 National Cancer Institute – Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers nationwide, City of Hope also houses a renowned bench-to-bedside research institute with 100+ principal investigators working toward the treatments and prevention of cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. Our MSTM students will conduct cutting edge Master’s thesis studies in areas across basic, translational and clinical research. Students in this program will also have the unique opportunity to interact with City of Hope’s clinician scientists through our clinical mentorship program that allows them to have a better understanding of the most current disease treatments in our hospital and how to connect their research at the bench to bedside.

I strongly believe that our MSTM program will be of great interest to your undergraduates who are looking for advanced biomedical research training to better position them in a career path in biotech/pharmaceutical industry, clinical or academic laboratories, or to prepare them for further education at the doctoral level, medical education or both. Attached is a copy of our MSTM program brochure. I would greatly appreciate your help in introducing our program to your students for their consideration. If you have any questions or wish to make any further inquiry about the MSTM program, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or phone.

Sincerely Yours,
Yilun Liu, Ph.D.
